Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme (SSPRS) - 21 December 2021

  • The SSPRS will help small and medium-sized employers – those with fewer than 250 employees – by reimbursing them for the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for Covid-related absences, for up to 2 weeks per employee

Changes to the COVID-19 self-isolation period - 22 December 2021

  • The Government has announced that people who receive negative Lateral Flow results on day 6 and day 7 of their self-isolation period – with tests taken 24 hours apart – will no longer have to self-isolate for the full 10 days. The first test must be taken no earlier than day 6 of the self-isolation period.

Essential funding for the nightclubs, events, retail, hospitality, leisure, tourism businesses (NERHLT) sectors in Wales - 23 December 2021

  • Welsh Government has made £120m funding available for NERHLT sectors to support businesses impacted by COVID-19 through the period 13 December 2021 to 14 February 2022.

Confirmatory PCR tests to be temporarily suspended for positive lateral flow test results - 06 January 2022

  • From the 11 January in England, people who receive positive lateral flow device (LFD) test results for coronavirus will be required to self-isolate immediately and won't be required to take a confirmatory PCR test.

Ending self-isolation early in Scotland - 06 January 2022

  • Individuals can end self-isolation early if you have 2 consecutive negative LFD test results from day 6 onwards, taken 24 hours apart.

  • Self-isolation period for those who test positive with Covid-19 to be cut from 7 to 5 days in England, from Monday 17 January.

England to return to Plan A - 21 January 2022

  • People will no longer be advised to work from home, face coverings will no longer be mandatory in indoor venues, and organisations will be able to choose whether to require NHS Covid Passes.
