The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has recently published new versions of information sheets prepared under section 86A of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The new versions of the information sheets will become current three months after they were published on the FCA’s website.

Until 26 July 2018, firms should continue to use the current versions of the information sheets – those that became the current version on 13 April 2017. From 27 July 2018 firms must use the new versions.

Lenders must include a copy of the relevant information sheet when notifying a consumer that they are in arrears or default. This is required by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (section 86A) These information sheets are intended to help consumers by telling them about their rights and responsibilities, and where they can get help.
