Drive My Career is the new and unique web based initiative designed to connect employers in the automotive industry with young people and, as a result, help the youth find their ideal job in the sector. It’s the perfect platform for people who want to earn while they learn. The career portal is powered by the NFDA and aims, in the long term, to improve the perception of the automotive industry, especially amongst young people.
What opportunities are available on the website?
Drive My Career targets young people who would not necessarily think of the automotive industry as an option for their career. It showcases the wide range of opportunities available within all sectors of the automotive retail industry ranging from sales and HR, to management and vehicle technicians.
How does it work?
Step 1: Candidates visit www.drivemycareer.co.uk and enter their postcode
Step 2: They select their local dealership to see what jobs are available
Step 3: They apply for the role that most appeals to them on the career page of the employer, or get in touch with them directly
25 dealer groups have joined Drive My Career and currently there are over 700 sites displayed on the website. The traffic to the website has been growing significantly and the number of people who have been redirected through Drive My Career to NFDA members’ career pages continues to go up.
