Today, the NFDA met with the John Procter MEP at JCT600’s Porsche dealership in Leeds with CEO John Tordoff. We highlighted the importance of the retail automotive sector in terms of investment, employment and training, and discussed topics such as diesel, electric vehicles and WLTP. If you would like to host your local MP at your dealership please contact louise.woods@rmif.co.uk

On the subject of WLTP, members have raised concern on the likely impact this will have on vehicle supply, specifically that there is potential pressure to pre-register vehicles at the end of August and shortage of stock for the September plate change. The NFDA has written to manufacturers asking them to give their dealer networks more information and clarity on the situation.

Finally, next week, we are holding our last round of regional dealer forums on Tuesday 19th in York and Wednesday 20th in Warrington. Topics for discussion will include the new and used car markets, an update on Drive My Career, finance and insurance issues, HR issues and an update on DVLA matters. If you would like to attend these meetings, or any future meetings, please email louise.woods@rmif.co.uk.
