Dear Colleague,
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee has published a report suggesting that the Government should bring forward the target for new sales of cars and vans to be zero emission by 2032. These announcements and headlines are likely to create further confusion. NFDA called for a consistent, joint approach by Government, industry and key stakeholders which supports the efforts the automotive industry is making. Please find more details in the news.
It has come to our attention that a particular Trading Standards authority is contacting its local dealers with questions about the information they disclose when selling used cars as part of a ‘pro-active enforcement project.’ Members are reminded that they are entitled to take advice before responding to enquiries from Trading Standards. If you receive any enquiries from your local Trading Standards please call the NFDA member helpline for advice 01788 538303.
