This week’s new passenger car registration figures showed that the market declined by -3.0% in November and is now -6.9% down year to date. Positively, sales of battery electric vehicles grew by an impressive 69.5%. The light commercial vehicles market rose significantly by 9.6% and is now marginally down by -0.7% annually. The slots available for the pilot phase of our newly launched Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) scheme are now full. The pilot phase of EVA, which has been endorsed by the Office for Low Emissions Vehicles and the Energy Saving Trust, certifies retailers’ excellence in the electric vehicle arena. This week we held our Northwest and Southern regional meetings in Warrington and Cobham. New and used car market, F&I and HR issues, with a focus on Drive My Career, as well as the implications of the electric vehicles’ market and WLTP were the key issues discussed.
