Dear Colleague,
This week’s new passenger car registration figures showed that the market declined by -6.8% in 2018 largely due to the effects of the introduction WLTP and the uncertain political-economic climate. Positively, the van market declined by only -1.3% last year, marking the fourth-best performance on record. Please email louise.woods@rmif.co.uk to receive a copy of the figures.
The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee has published the Government’s response to its Electric Vehicle report. It was positive to see further confirmation of Government’s support for our recently launched Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) scheme. The response says: “The Government is also supporting the work of the National Franchised Dealers Association to develop an accreditation standard for new and used electric car dealerships. This will set a standard for dealers who are looking to prove their expertise in selling and supporting electric vehicles.” The document is available at https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cmselect/cmbeis/1881/188102.htm
