Dear Colleague,

This week saw MPs vote down the Prime Minister’s deal and then reject a no-deal Brexit under any circumstances. Finally, on Thursday, MPs voted to delay Brexit. The Prime Minister will now request an extension from the EU. The Government has also published the tariffs that goods would incur in case of no deal. It is extremely disappointing to see that imported cars would attract a 10% tariff. Please find more details in the news.

At this week’s Spring Statement, it was announced that the Government will publish in the ‘coming months’ the response to the consultation on Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) and Vehicle Taxes that NFDA responded to. The consultation focused on the impact of WLTP on Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) and company car tax. We will be monitoring the case and keep you informed.
