Dear Colleague,

This week marked the anniversary of the publication of the Government’s Road To Zero strategy. We highlighted the significant progress that franchised retailers have been making on the road to a zero-emission vehicle market. In particular, retailers are showing huge interest in our recently launched Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme. We advise members who would like to join EVA to email eva@rmif.co.uk soon.

HM Treasury has provided further clarity on the company car tax regime. BIK rates will be reduced by 2% in 2020/2021 and zero emission company cars will attract a 0% rate. Disappointingly, current VED rates will remain in place, but the Government will continue to consider whether to move to ‘a more dynamic approach to VED’ as we suggested in our consultation response. Please find more details below.

This week I attended the Motor Trader Awards alongside a huge number of our industry colleagues. I would like to congratulate NFDA members Sytner Group, Marshall Motor Group, Waylands, TrustFord and Swansway Group on winning awards.

NFDA is your trade association: we represent, you benefit. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline at 01788 538303.
