Alex Chalk MP for Cheltenham visited NFDA member Inchcape UK VW under the NFDA Parliamentary Engagement Programme on Friday 16 August.

The programme was launched in 2017 to raise awareness of the automotive retail sector and provide NFDA members with the opportunity to meet their local MPs and show them how franchised dealerships are run.

The key themes discussed during the visit included consumer confidence and the effects of the uncertainty caused by Brexit, employment levels in our industry, as well as diesel and the development of the electric vehicle sector.

These visits allow us to highlight to MPs the main challenges and opportunities facing our sector and, as a result, strengthen the relationship between the industry and MPs.
