NFDA has been made aware that West Midlands Police are currently reviewing multiple reports of Card Not Present frauds relating to the purchase of vehicles over the telephone using lost and/or stolen Credit Card details.
The vehicles are being collected within 24 Hours and further purchases attempted before the credit card company charges back the outstanding balance, leaving the trader with No vehicle(s) and No payment. The police are advising that this is a scam and dealers need to be cautious when dealing with not present purchases of vehicles.
