Dear Colleague,

Following the outcome of the General Election, we hope clarity will soon be provided to businesses. NFDA’s engagement with parliamentarians in recent years has been instrumental to raising awareness of the key issues in the automotive retail sector. We will start to set up meetings to engage with the new Government and ensure that the interests of our franchised dealer members continue to be safeguarded.

Also, I encourage NFDA members to consider taking part in our parliamentary programme by offering to host your local MP for a visit to your site. If you would like to host an MP, or for more details, please contact nfda@rmif.co.uk.

The first Drive My Career’s Female Apprentice Network took place on Wednesday. Forty female apprentice technicians attended the event to network, meet apprentices from other dealer groups and take part in an afternoon activity. Promoting inclusivity in the automotive sector is one of Drive My Career’s key goals and more events will take place next year. Further information will follow next week.

This week we were in Coventry and York for the NFDA Midland and North-East Regional Meetings. I encourage dealers to attend their local regional to discuss dealer/manufacturer relationship, new and used car market, as well as any regulatory issues affecting the sector. Please find dates and venues for 2020 in the news – your attendance is key.

NFDA is the voice of automotive retailers. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01788 538303.

Sue Robinson, NFDA Director
