Dear Colleague,

This week saw Drive My Career mark its first-year anniversary with a number of key milestones which have been achieved thanks to the support of the almost 1,000 dealerships now involved in the initiative. The retail automotive industry is transparent, innovative and exciting and it is vital that we communicate this to the next generations outside the industry. Please find more information below.

NFDA has responded to HM Treasury’s consultation on the review of WLTP and vehicle taxes. We highlighted that, following the introduction of WLTP, a more detailed review of the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) is necessary. Of particular concern is the fact that VED payments are weighted too heavily on the first year. We will keep you up-to-date on this issue, please contact us if you require any further information.

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) predicts a stable EU new car market in 2019 with the challenges of CO2 targets, uncertainty in the political environment and the slow uptake of electrically chargeable vehicles. More details in the news.

Bookings are now open for the NFDA Spring Ball 2019! The event will take place on Saturday 11 May 2019 at The Grove Resort in Hertfordshire. We will be celebrating retail automotive excellence and we look forward to seeing you all there. Please contact louise.woods@rmif.co.uk to reserve your place.

NFDA is your trade association: we represent, you benefit. If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline - 01788 538 303.
