Dear Colleague,

The Coronavirus emergency continues to present challenges for businesses. NFDA is providing its members with daily guidance and updates through conference calls, website, social media channels and our daily bulletin. This week we included further details on the Job Retention Scheme, guidance on Business Rate Relief as well as updates on a number of relevant issues such as the MOT exemption. If you are a member and not currently receiving our daily email updates, please contact nfda@rmif.co.uk. Find more information in the news.

Yesterday, we wrote a second letter to the Chancellor and highlighted again how critical it is to include bonuses/commissions in the Job Retention Scheme to protect the thousands of people employed in the automotive industry who rely on these regular earnings. We will keep you updated on this issue.

On Wednesday, we urged the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to waive its fees or at least at least implement a one-year deferral for motor retailers. Positively, the FCA has acknowledged our request and confirmed they would be consulting shortly on this year’s fees. Please find more details below.

We have published the spring 2020 issue of our quarterly magazine, The Voice. It includes an interview with Mark Lavery, CEO of Cambria, the latest results of the NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey, an update on our Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme and on Drive My Career.
