Dear Colleague,

NFDA has been working closely with SMMT and relevant Government departments to prepare guidance for dealers who will soon return to business. The document has been compiled in line with Government’s guidelines and further details will be published soon.

We continue to provide our dealer members with timely updates and guidance on COVID-19. If you are an NFDA member and not currently receiving our daily bulletin, please email nfda@rmif.co.uk.

As expected, new passenger car registration figures showed the market was heavily affected during the lockdown as dealerships remained closed. We highlighted it will be vital to evaluate a package of measures to support the sector and stimulate consumer confidence over the coming months. Also the light commercial vehicle market experienced a significant decline. Please find more details below.

In addition to the regular contacts with NFDA members allowing us to address the most pressing issues, we continue to work with dealers in all business areas. This week, we held well-attended and engaging NFDA IT & Data and EV working group e-meetings, while HR & Employment will take place next week. Please email nfda@rmif.co.uk for more details about our working groups.

Northern Ireland Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon has announced that a one-year MOT temporary exemption certificate (TEC) for owners of all eligible cars, goods vehicles, trailers and motorcycles will be processed automatically from Monday 11 May. Please find more information in the news.
