Dear Colleague,

The latest new passenger car registration figures showed a -34.9% decline in June. This was an improvement from the previous months when dealerships across the UK had to stay closed, but the effect of pent-up demand is still unclear. The light commercial vehicle market saw a drop in sales of -24.8% showing demand for vans is gradually increasing. Please find more information in the news.

This week, the Chancellor set out the next phase of the UK’s economic recovery plan in response to the Coronavirus outbreak including the Government’s scheme to create and protect jobs. As no specific measure for the automotive sector was announced, it will be vital to continue to monitor how our industry performs over the coming weeks. More details below.
