Dear Colleague,
Following the introduction of the ‘firebreak lockdown’ in Wales from today, 23 October to 9 November, car dealerships will have to close, although necessary repair and maintenance works can continue to be performed.
NFDA has written to Ken Skates MS, Minister for Economy, Transport and North Wales, to request clarity about the legality of online purchases and ‘click & collect’. The Welsh Government has confirmed that they are working on sector-specific guidance which is not yet available. Currently, there remains confusion, but ‘delivery of vehicles in a Covid secure fashion does not currently appear to breach the Regulations’ according to our legal advisors, MILS.
We will keep our members updated, please find more information in the news.
This week, we launched a new HR survey to understand the issues facing dealers in the employment sector and understand how members are coping with the current challenges. We will analyse key themes including employee engagement, training and development, work-life balance as well as recruitment and retention. Pease find more details below.
We have published the latest issue of our quarterly magazine, The Voice. It features an overview of our lobbying activities during COVID-19, an update on the Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme which has now reopened for dealers as well as a list of NFDA members’ testimonials. Read ‘The Voice’ online here.
