This week’s new passenger car registrations showed a marginal decline in October, while private demand remained stable. Positively, electric vehicles saw strong growth. Sales of light commercial vehicles continued to rise, up 13.3%, as supply improves. Please find more details in the news.

Following the latest Government announcements and the introduction of a national lockdown in England, MILS Legal have provided an update looking at the current implications for dealers. Regulations remain very fluid and we continue to encourage our members to contact us directly so that we can assist with any queries you may have.

Due to the pressures of the pandemic, DVLA is encouraging dealers to send their trade plates renewal applications in early by using the online form. DVLA has also produced a step-by-step best practice guide to help applicants. Please find more details below.

In this week’s newsletter, we also included an update on the largest European markets. Despite a range of incentives which supported private buyers in a number of countries, new car sales declined in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
