Dear Colleague,

The Government has confirmed that the lockdown restrictions currently in place in England will end on Wednesday 2 December at 00.01. As a result, from (and including) Wednesday 2 December, dealerships will be allowed to reopen following COVID-19 Secure guidelines.

In this week’s newsletter, we also included guidance for Scotland, where more areas have recently been placed into the highest tier of restrictions, and Northern Ireland, which today entered a two-week lockdown period. Please find more details below and if you have any queries, please contact us directly.

On Tuesday, I attended a meeting with representatives from the automotive sector, including a number of manufacturers, Transport Secretary Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP and Business Secretary Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP. Following the announcement of the 2030 deadline, we discussed the transition to electric vehicles and challenges faced by businesses and consumers. We will continue to keep our members updated.

We are delighted that Drive My Career has been awarded a Highly Commended at the Motor Trader industry awards. While we continue to support our members’ recruitment efforts, it is important that we monitor the most pressing HR issues facing dealers. On Monday, we will also publish the results of our first NFDA HR survey – interesting results!
