Dear Colleague,

This week we announced the launch of our “NFDA NI” division which will allow us to increase our lobbying efforts and ensure the voice of the franchised vehicle dealer is heard in Northern Ireland. In addition to the usual membership package, members of NFDA NI will benefit from dedicated resources including an NFDA representative based in Northern Ireland. Please find more details in the news.

NFDA’s new EV Readiness Roadshows are coming to Northampton, Leeds and Newbury in July. Across four insightful modules and with the support of external keynote speakers, we will discuss how to tackle challenges and embrace opportunities during the transition to EVs. We will discuss how to ensure your dealership infrastructure is ready, how to create an EV culture, and we will also cover the EV sales process, including qualifying customers and overcoming common objections. Please email lena.patel@rmif.co.uk to register to attend.

The DVLA has highlighted changes to the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) that may affect some of your customers. In particular, the VED that applies to vehicles first registered on or after 1 April 2017 with a list price over £40,000, coming to the end of the 5-year period for the £335 ‘Additional Rate’. Please visit the gov.uk page for further information on the changes: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vehicle-tax-for-cars-registered-from-1-april-2017 or contact us for further guidance.

NFDA is your trade association, we are the voice of automotive retailers. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline on 01788 538303 or email nfda@rmif.co.uk.
