Dear Colleague,

The automotive industry is facing a number of changes, which, in some cases, are leading to a degree a speculation, especially surrounding agency models. We are working to obtain further, legal clarity for our sector - we will keep you updated. Please do contact me for guidance, to discuss these topics and update us on concerns you may have.

We have recently received a letter from Transport Secretary Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP confirming the Government’s willingness to continue work closely with NFDA and our dealer members during the transition to EVs – a positive step. The letter came in response to our previous correspondence expressing disappointment at the recent changes to the plug-in grant. Please find further details in the news.

As covid self-isolation is causing disruption across a number of sectors, we have written to several Government departments to seek clarification on eligibility for self-isolation exemptions for vehicle retailers. While we wait for further details, the Government is encouraging individual businesses to contact them directly. Please see more information below.

This week, we held a well-attended EV Forum in conjunction with the MHA EV Alliance where a line-up of expert speakers provided dealers with useful tips and guidance. As we continue to support members during the transition to EVs, next month, we will host three EV Readiness Roadshows for members in Newbury, Northampton and Leeds, join us! Please find full details below.
