UK car production slumped to its lowest level since 1984 last year as the coronavirus pandemic disrupted factories and depressed demand, industry figures show. Brexit uncertainty was also partly to blame as the number of vehicles manufactured in Britain fell by 29.3% to 920,928, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). JCT600 opens new Citroen and MG car dealerships in Bradford – AM Online

JCT600 has expanded its car retail portfolio in its hometown of Bradford with the opening of new Citroën UK and MG Motor UK dealerships. The AM100 car retail group has introduced the brands to its collection of franchised outlets on Sticker Lane, with Citroën joining its existing Peugeot and Vauxhall facilities, while MG has been brought into a showroom which also accommodates Mitsubishi Motors in the UK. JCT600’s Groupe PSA operations in the city now include 27 workshop bays on-site, which includes two MOT bays.

Commenting on the creation of the new Citroën outlet, JCT600 chief executive, John Tordoff, said: “We are delighted to welcome Citroën to the JCT600 family, where it will sit nicely alongside our other Stellantis brands, Vauxhall and Peugeot, in our home town of Bradford. Vertu adds Citroën to Bristol Street Motors Ford Macclesfield dealership – AM Online

Vertu Motors’ Bristol Street Motors division has seen a Citroën franchise added into its Macclesfield Ford dealership operation as part of a £200,000 redevelopment of the facility. Vertu's decision to bring Citroën under the same roof as an existing Ford franchise in Macclesfield mirrors a project undertaken as part of a £250,000 upgrade of its site in Worcester last August.

Vertu’s move to create a multi-franchised site featuring the French brand is in-line with new plan to drive profitability outlined by Citroen UK managing director, Eurig Druce, last month. Druce recently said the plan that the Groupe PSA brand has been “crying out for” included a concerted push for the brand to be brought under the same roof as fellow Groupe PSA brands Peugeot, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall, in particular. Perrys Relocates Kia dealership in Huddersfield – Motor Trader

Perrys Group has Kia has moved its Kia dealership in Huddersfield from Longley Park to a bigger, refurbished premises in Northgate. The new site retains all Longley Park staff, while creating new jobs to allow the dealer to make the most of its new larger site. The Northgate facility is also located closer to town and the railway station, further improving customer access to the dealership.

Stoneacre signs 15-year lease on 65,100sq-ft parts and logistic hub – AM Online

Stoneacre Motor Group has signed a 15-year lease on a 65,100sq-ft Parts and Logistic Hub in Doncaster. Property developer St. Modwen has attracted the dealer group to its 27-acre at St. Modwen Park Doncaster industrial and logistics development in the South Yorkshire town.

The location is already home to a mixture of engineering, automotive and logistics occupiers including Bosch and DB Schenker and is Located on a major arterial route between the M18 and the A1 – just eight miles from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
