Dear Colleague,
In the past two weeks, we attended the Labour and Tory party conferences. Meetings with stakeholders and MPs provided an ideal opportunity to continue our political engagement on behalf of dealers. We highlighted franchised dealers’ investment levels, our sector’s contributions to the economy, as well as the challenges our industry is facing to meet the 2030/35 Government deadline for ICE vehicles. Further meetings with Parliamentarians will follow, please find more details in the news.
The latest new car and light van registration figures showed that although demand from consumers and businesses alike remains robust, sales are being affected by significant supply issues due to the continued shortage of microchips and other components. Please find more information below.
In our recent spending review submission, we urged the Government to recognise the impact that the planned increase in tax will have on businesses. We also highlighted the key role franchised dealers are playing in the transition to zero emissions and how they could and should continue to be supported. See more details below.
