Dear Colleague,

The Government has published its Net Zero Strategy outlining how it aims to reach zero emissions by 2050. Within the strategy, an extra £620 million was announced for ‘targeted electric vehicle grants and infrastructure, particularly local on-street residential charge points’. Although it is still unclear how the funds will be allocated, these investments represent a positive step. Please find more information in the news.

The NFDA Northern Ireland division (NFDA NI) has responded to the NI Government’s Call for Evidence following the proposal to carry out MOT tests every two years in Northern Ireland. We have urged the NI Government to seriously rethink these proposals as we believe the move to biennial testing will increase defects in vehicles and put road safety at risk. See more details in the news.

This week, we visited NFDA member Trident Honda in Ottershaw to launch our new ‘Dealer Spotlight’ initiative which will allow us to further engage with members and raise awareness of their successes. Please find further information in the news.

Our NFDA Regional Meetings will be back next month. We will discuss manufacturer relationships, agency agreements and feedback; new and used car market; F&I; training and recruitment; aftersales; EVs and more. Please click here to find your nearest regional and register to attend.
