Dear Colleague,

On Wednesday, the Chancellor delivered his Autumn Budget and Spending Review. Following our extensive lobbying efforts, we have secured a number of positive wins for franchised retailers, in particular, surrounding business rates. In today’s newsletter, we feature a summary of all relevant announcements and our comments.

Currently, we are working with the NFDA retained legal advisors TLT to look closely at manufacturers’ future strategies. If you would like to discuss any issues further, please give me a call. Conversations will be treated in confidence.

This week, we also reopened our Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme. Following two extremely successful years, the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has renewed its endorsement and co-funding of the scheme. If you would like to become EV Approved, please contact eva@rmif.co.uk; more details in the news.

We have published the Autumn Edition of our magazine, The Voice. You will find comprehensive updates on EVA and Drive My Career, analyses of our latest surveys, plus all our events and meetings coming up in the next months including our regional meetings starting next week, AM Live, our trip to the NADA Show in Las Vegas, as well as our Spring Ball returning in April. Please find more details below.

Next NFDA regional meeting: Midland, Double Tree by Hilton, Coventry – Wednesday 3 November 2021. For more info and registrations email lena.patel@rmif.co.uk

NFDA is the voice of automotive retailers: if you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our member helpline on 01788 538303 or email nfda@rmif.co.uk
