Dear Colleague,

The latest new passenger car registration figures showed a significant decline primarily due to the closure of showrooms during the current lockdown. However, we have highlighted that there is optimism about the year ahead - when restrictions start to ease, pent-up demand and the growing popularity of EVs are likely to fuel sales. Positively, the light commercial vehicle market performed very well in January, up 2.0%. Please find further details in the news.

This week, we held five well-attended regional dealer forums across the UK. The meetings helped us understand the key issues facing dealers and provided us with an ideal opportunity to update you the current trends facing the sector and what NFDA is doing to support members around issues such as COVID restrictions and motor finance, as well as the additional services currently available to you. Thanks to all those who attended and provided extremely useful feedback.

Please also remember our Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) scheme is open for dealers to apply (email eva@rmif.co.uk) and our new programme “Engage” is live, our members can request a free of charge performance report of their website as well as additional assistance with their communication activities by emailing nfdaengage@rmif.co.uk.

NFDA is the voice of automotive retailers: if you require any assistance or have any enquiries about any of the issues mentioned in the newsletter, please email nfda@rmif.co.uk or contact our member helpline at 01788 538303
