Dear Colleague,

Recent industry data and research show that consumer confidence remains robust despite a degree of concerns and speculation surrounding the latest news related to covid.

Additionally a survey from What Car? revealed consumers continue to place their trust in franchised dealers. Please find more details in the news.

This week, it was disappointing to hear that the Government has decided to reduce the availability of the plug-in grant. We have highlighted that this move can derail the progress our sector has made so far and disincentives consumers. We have already spoken with the DfT to outline our concerns and will continue to engage with the Government. Please find further details in the news and contact us if you require any clarification.

On Wednesday, we held a well-attended EV working group where we discussed the work we have been doing to facilitate the transition to EVs, including our collaboration with industry stakeholders to promote ‘charge confidence’. A reminder - applications for our Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) accreditation scheme are open, with Government funded slots still available. Please contact eva@rmif.co.uk to become EV Approved.
