Dear Colleague,

On Monday, we published the results of our latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey. In the winter 2021/22 edition, we received a record 67% response rate with the results showing encouraging signs and rising average scores across most business areas. In particular, franchised dealers showed high satisfaction levels with current profit and total margins on used cars. Please find further details in the news.

I am currently at NADA in Las Vegas where I am meeting with members, colleagues, and NFDA counterparts from around the world. Yesterday, I spoke at the NADA international roundtable and provided an update on the issues affecting UK dealers including agencies, BER and the work we are undertaking. NFDA Chair David Newman gave an update on the market, in particular, looking at EVs. The full details of our visit will follow next week.

Driving Digital will be back in London on 12 May, the day of the AM Awards. This year, we are delighted to welcome back Eddie Hawthorne, Chief Executive of Arnold Clark, as our keynote speaker. The line-up will be completed by Catherine Faiers and Ian Plummer (respectively COO and Commercial Director at Auto Trader), Kim Costello (Pendragon’s Chief Marketing Officer), Neil Addley (Founder and MD JudgeService) and Owen Edwards (Grant Thornton). Registrations are now open and the event is free for NFDA members, book your place here. Full details will be announced shortly.
