Dear Colleague,

The NFDA continues to work closely with its franchised dealer members, specialist legal advisers, TLT LLP, and leading counsel to assess the possible scenarios affecting the future relationship between franchised dealers and manufacturers. We are currently finalising our response to the CMA’s consultation. We will keep you updated and if you would like to discuss, please contact me.

Following the Government’s rumoured proposals to reduce the frequency of MOT testing, we raised our concerns and highlighted that the change would cause considerable safety issues and impact businesses’ investments. Instead, we encouraged the Government to review current road tax rates. Please find more details in the news.

This week, NFDA’s Drive My Career published the findings of its latest survey showing that a large proportion of those who have never considered working in automotive would be open to the idea if they were made aware of the opportunities available. Please find the survey’s results in today’s news.
