Dear Colleague,

This week we received a response from HM Treasury to our Spring Statement submission. In addition to a summary of a number of measures the Government has committed to, the letter outlines that the Government will continue to monitor the transition to EVs and consider how they can “further target intervention to ensure all motorists can realise the benefits of owning an EV”. Please find the full letter in today’s news.

Our next round of NFDA Regional Member Meetings will take place in June. We will discuss agencies and the dealer/manufacturer relationship, the new and used car market, FCA issues, the recruitment challenges facing dealers as well as electrification and EVA. To join your nearest regional, please email lena.patel@rmif.co.uk. Your input is vital!

Yesterday, NFDA Northern Ireland held a constructive meeting. The key themes on the agenda included the current political situation in Northern Ireland and concerns regarding a lack of an Executive; the state of NI’s EV charging infrastructure; and the proposals to change MOT in Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Further details will follow.
