Dear Colleague,

This week NFDA expressed disappointment over the government announcement to abolish the plug-in-car grant from 7:00 14 June. The NFDA has already spoken to the Department of Transport outlining our concerns about the continued cutting of government EV price incentives. We will continue to lobby for an accessible and government supported EV market in order for the UK to successfully reach its net-zero targets.

Also this week the NFDA also welcomed the government’s commitment to modernise consumer credit laws, which include car finance regulations for hire purchases and PCP agreements. The NFDA expects a consultation to arise from this in due course, and we will respond in retailers’ best interest.

On Thursday this week we also held its triannual north-western regional meeting in Warwick. Some of the main topics for discussion were manufacturer relations, agency, environmental and electric vehicles.

The NFDA Northern Regional Meeting will take place on 23 June in Leads, West Yorkshire, at Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa. If you would like to attend the next meeting, please contact Lena.Patel@rmif.co.uk
