Dear Colleagues,
Our final meeting of the summer round of Regional Meetings took place this week in Bristol. As usual the meeting gave members the opportunity to find out what is happening in the retail motor industry and to take away essential updates on key issues. The meeting saw lively discussion on market conditions, manufacturer relationships including Block Exemption and agency agreements, aftermarket issues and the new FCA Duty of Care. To participate in the next round of meetings in September please contact Lena.Patel@rmif.co.uk.
We also met with members of the National Association of Motor Auctions to discuss current used vehicle market conditions and future market predictions. Members said that supply was generally meeting the current demand for used vehicles and that vehicle values were relatively stable with only a slight decline coming into July. Demand for new better condition cars is much stronger due to shortages of supply than vehicles over 5 years old in poorer conditions. A full report of the meeting is in the newsletter.
The week the NFDA released the latest CV newsletter, which provides industry-relevant information. The newsletter mentions important government announcements such as the closure of the highly effective Plug-in Car Grant scheme. Also in the newsletter are articles on HGV sales, supply constraints, legal advice, and CV registrations. See the newsletter below.
