This week, the European Commission launched a public consultation and a call for evidence inviting all interested parties to comment on its draft proposals for the future of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (‘MVBER') regime. NFDA are monitoring this closely and will provide a response in due course.
Last week, I met with David Blackhall, Charman of the Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA), discussions centred around agency agreements, with an update on the Australian situation. We will continue to work together and share updates on regulatory issues in both countries.
Finally, on Tuesday, the latest SMMT registration figures were released, highlighting the continued impact that external pressures are having on new car sales after displaying consecutive declines for the first half of 2022.
