Policy update

In January 2022, NFDA NI submitted its response to a Consultation on the Proposed Content of the new Road Safety Strategy for Northern Ireland to 2030. The Department for Infrastructure’s stated aims and objectives of the consultation are to reduce road accidents and fatalities across the country, through a series of measures. The consultation discussed the fact that it was still in the process of evaluating feedback from the ‘Call for Evidence on Biennial MOT Testing’. NFDA NI reiterated to the Department that the frequency of testing in NI should not be changed as it will only serve to undermine road safety.

In this month’s news, we outlined some of the key issues that Northern Ireland is currently facing, plus general news and relevant updates. We have also included a summary of all the services dealers can access to as members of NFDA NI.
