Dear Colleagues,

Currently, we are lobbying Government on behalf of our members on a wide range of issues from regulatory change at the FCA to Apprenticeship levy reform. The FCA this week published their new rules for Appointed Representatives which will make changes to the application process. We still remained concerned about the Apprentice levy and the risk that it just becomes a tax on dealers. We continue to lobby for reform but in the meantime, we urge members to ensure they receive as much benefit from the levy from training apprentices as they are able. See below for more information

The continued pressures that face the industry were highlighted on Thursday with the release of the latest SMMT registration figures for cars which demonstrated consistent declines in volumes for the first half of 2022. Additionally, the Light Commercial Van market struggled to recoup its decline in figures from previous months. Please find more information in today’s news.

Understanding the issues our members face is the best way we can support the work they do. Our bi-annual Dealer Attitude Survey has only a few days left, we would urge you to complete this, to allow us to understand the key difficulties you face.
