Arnold Clark expands its network of motor parts distribution depots – AM Online

Arnold Clark Automobiles is expanding its network of Arnold Clark Autoparts depots which support independent garages.

Its latest branch will open in Chesterfield in September, taking the total to 15 locations, spanning from Inverness in northern Scotland to West Bromwich in England's Midlands.

Craig McCracken, group factor manager at Arnold Clark Autoparts, said: “It’s an exciting time for the company, as we expand further with new branches across the Midlands and north England to serve more trade customers than ever before.

Polestar losses swell despite one-car EV range's 123% sales growth – AM Online

High-performance electric vehicle (EV) brand Polestar has grown its revenues 95% and registrations by 123% during the first half of 2022 – and has yet to expand its one-model car range.

The Geely-owned brand, which floated on the New York Stock Exchange in June, has reported revenues of $1.04 billion in the first six months of 2022, up 95% year-over-year as its car sales accelerated from 9,510 to 21,185.

But while Polestar’s gross profit rose 49% to $53.4m, it posted an operating loss of $885.2m as its cost of listing topped $372.3m and its cost of sales swelled by 95% to $987.9m in the period.

Hendy Group purchases West Way Nissan from Nissan GB with plans in place for new premises – Car Dealer Magazine

Hendy Group has completed its acquisition of West Way Nissan in Southampton for an undisclosed fee.

The south coast-based outfit has purchased the Hampshire site from Nissan GB and plans to integrate it into the group ahead of a planned move to new premises in nearby Eastleigh.

Bosses have described the takeover as an important milestone in the continued growth of Hendy Group and its work with the Nissan.

Pendragon launches open banking with Pinewood and Vyne – AM Online

Pendragon is providing its customers a new payment option with Pinewood DMS and Vyne open banking in-store and online.

Vyne, the account-to-account payments platform, has been selected to deliver open banking payments to Pinewood, to provide dealers an instant payment addition to their digital omnichannel offering.

Pendragon’s brands can now bypass card networks and their associated fees by offering Vyne’s payment solution.

Hendy Group first to offer new Karzoom car subscription offering – AM Online

Hendy Group has become the first franchised car retailer to offer a new car subscription offering through a partnership with newly relaunched Karzoom.

A new insurance solution from mobility focused insurance provider Zego has allowed Karzoom to transition from a daily rental to a car subscription solution in an evolution AM discussed with co-founder and former ASE chief commercial officer Mike Fazal last month.

And long-time Karzoom partner Hendy Group will be the first to serve up the new solution, monetising a fleet of vehicles through its HendyGo brand.
