Dear Colleague,

Our Parliamentary Engagement Programme for 2022 has started with a visit from Stockport MP and Transport Committee Member Navendu Mishra to a Lookers Skoda dealership. The meeting provided an ideal opportunity to discuss a range of issues facing our sector, including the challenges impacting the growth of the EV market, franchised dealers’ investments in jobs and their contributions to the local and national economies. Please find further details in today’s news and let us know if you would like to host your local MP. We are also back having ‘real meetings’ with MPs at Westminster on your behalf: we will keep you updated.

As you are all aware, all remaining covid-related restrictions are being eased across the UK, with the introduction, in England, of the ‘living with covid plan’. Please find further details in today’s news.

This week, Drive My Career visited Sytner BMW/MINI in Harold Wood to meet their apprentices. The objective of the visit was to hear colleagues’ experiences and, subsequently, share their inspiring stories with those outside our industry to highlight the exciting prospects of a career in automotive. More information, videos and stories will follow. If you would like DMC to meet your apprentices, please contact info@drivemycareer.co.uk.
