The Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, delivered his Spring Budget Review earlier this week, a pivotal moment in the year for Government to outline their priorities and areas of importance. As a whole, NFDA was disappointed with the lack of focus and investment prioritised to the automotive sector and the transition to electric vehicles. In NFDA's press release following the announcement, we urged government to place more emphasis on financing and levelling up the electric vehicle landscape. Moreover, we pressed for them to match the efforts and investments franchised dealers have made, and continue to make, if they plan to meet their ambitious 2030 deadlines and 2050 net-zero targets.

Next Monday, 20 March, NFDA will be releasing the latest edition of the Dealer Attitude Survey. The DAS offers an insightful and comprehensive overview of the automotive sector and the health of franchised dealers’ business relationships with their respective manufacturers. We are extremely pleased with the continued engagement from the automotive retail sector in completing the survey, as we have accomplished a record response rate since its establishment in 1989. The results will be shared with members and press on Monday morning.

The NFDA Spring Ball 2023 is fast approaching with just over one month to go. This year is shaping up to be a truly magnificent event, a night filled with fine dining and entertainment at the world renowned 5-star resort, The Grove Hotel. Returning to host the event, by huge demand, will be Mark Durden-Smith and we will be announcing our celebrity guest speaker next week. Look out for updates on the NFDA social media channels!
