Dear Colleagues,

This week NFDA responded to the MOT consultation seeking to extend the initial testing period from 3 years to 4 years, which the NFDA strongly opposes. In order for us to maintain pressure on this issue with parliament, NFDA will be writing to members of the shadow transport department outlining our safety and business concerns with the proposals put forward by the Department for Transport.

NFDA has released the latest edition of the Dealer Attitude Survey and you can find the results within this edition of NFDA news. The DAS offers an insightful and comprehensive overview of the automotive sector and the health of franchised dealers’ business relationships with their respective manufacturers. We are extremely pleased with the continued engagement from the automotive retail sector in completing the survey, as we have accomplished a record response rate since its establishment in 1989 of 70% with a total of 2,647 responses.

Please find in this edition of the news a full list of upcoming events to add to your calendars. The Spring Ball and Driving Digital are approaching fast, so be sure to reserve your tickets in time. Also on the list you will find key dates for our range of working groups and exec committees. Contact lena.patel@rmif.co.uk if there is a particular meeting you would like to attend.
