Dear Colleague,

Today, the latest new car and van registration figures for July were released by the SMMT. New car figures revealed a whole year of consecutive growth, and sales in both private buyers and fleet grew in July. Electric vehicles had a particularly strong month, reinforcing that consumer demand for the product remains robust. LCVs had a positive month too. the automotive sector as a whole is on a steady incline, and it is promising to see we heading back towards pre-pandemic averages.

This week, the Mayor of London announced that he will be expanding the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) scrappage scheme by offering £2,000 to all Londoners with non-compliant vehicles. The scrappage scheme payment for vans has also increased from £5,000 to £7,000. NFDA has a meeting arranged with the Transport for London (TfL) to discuss and outline the views of franchised dealers on the scrappage scheme. More details to be announced.

Finally, we are very pleased to release the Summer 2023 issue of our quarterly magazine – ‘The Voice’!
