Dear Colleague,

With the dust from the Autumn Statement now settled, we would like the opportunity to hear from franchised dealers on how beneficial the announcements made are for your businesses. It is apparent that automotive businesses and consumers have been overlooked which contradicts the objectives and targets set by the Government itself, for the sector to achieve. I would like to encourage NFDA Franchised Dealer members to complete our flash market survey, as we intend to use the results for our upcoming meetings with MPs and parliamentary communications.

Franchised dealers are the customer-facing end of the industry and are pivotal in the car buying journey. Particularly for the transition to electric, motorists are likely to come with a great deal of questions and concerns. NFDA’s Electric Vehicle Approved (EVA) retailers are making a positive impact for the sector, showing consumers that they are at the forefront of electric vehicle retail and that they are well prepared to answer questions and to stock, service, and repair electric vehicles. It is crucial that once you have obtained your EVA mark of approval, you are promoting this to customers and contributing to creating a brand that motorists can trust. I would like to give special recognition to Sytner’s West London Audi for their incredible display of EVA and I encourage other EVA Accredited Members to do the same. Please find in today’s news.

Finally, next Wednesday 6 December, we are extremely pleased to welcome franchised dealers and industry stakeholders to the Lord’s Cricket Ground for Driving Digital: Special Edition! With only a few tickets now remaining, dealers can network with new manufacturing entrants coming to the UK market, hear from dealers already retailing them, and obtain insights into the evolving market. VinFast, a Vietnamese based manufacturer has also now confirmed their presence at the event.
