Vertu Motors recognises ‘exceptional colleagues’ through awards

Vertu Motors has celebrated "standout" staff from a year of car retail growth at its 2022 CEO Management Awards.

Nominations are made by the CEO Committee, which identified employees who had delivered an outstanding level of personal performance and championed the company’s values, said the AM100 PLC.

This year’s winner of the Tom Fairgrieve Company Person of the Year Award was Paul Johnson, forecourt manager at Bristol Street Motors Widnes Nissan, as nominated by Steve Gould, operations director for the Group’s Renault Nissan division.

Gould said: “Paul has put his heart and soul into the business and into helping his dealership’s local people. He supported the community during the pandemic by ensuring their fuel station remained open 24 hours a day.

Arnold Clark Autoparts’ Craig McCracken becomes IAAF president

Arnold Clark Autoparts group factor manager Craig McCracken has been appointed as the new president of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF).

McCracken will remain on the IAAF board alongside outgoing president Richard Welland, honorary treasurer Lawrence Bleasdale and chief executive Mark Field.

His step up from a role as IAAF vice-president follows his receipt of Arnold Clark Autoparts’ ‘Factor of the Year’ accolade at the CAT magazine Awards 2023 earlier this month.

Snows announces second management shake-up of the year with four more promotions confirmed

Snows Motor Group has announced more changes to its management team with a major shake-up of its Toyota division.

Four new promotions have been announced at the south coast-based dealer group, following previous changes in January.

Leading the way this time round is Simon Frith, who has has stepped up to a new role as head of Franchise for Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz Vans and VW Commercials, having previously been franchise manager for the same brands.

Pendragon recognised by Reputation with 800 award

Pendragon has been recognised by Reputation with its 800 Award.

Reputation’s 800 Award highlights businesses that put customer experience at the very core of their strategy, and are driven by the voice of the customer to succeed.

Pendragon had 39 of its dealerships recognised with the 2023 800 Award, comprising dealerships from its Stratstone, Evans Halshaw and CarStore brands.

Lookers dealership investment continues with £1m Nissan Gateshead transformation

Lookers has continued to invest heavily in its dealership property portfolio with completion of a £1 million transformation of its Nissan Gateshead franchise.

Following on from investments of £750,000 in its Chester and Carlisle Nissan sites in 2022 and 2021, the addition of new Lotus and Great Wall Ora dealerships and its £4.5m transformation of BMW Crewe into ‘regional retail hub’, the AM100 PLC has acted to future-proof its site in the Northeast.

The Stoneygate Close facility’s 12-car showroom has received a thorough makeover – adding three electric vehicle (EV) charge points for customers and five in a dedicated workshop – through the works, which will be officially unveiled in April.
