“It is positive to see the commercial vehicle market is continuing to stabilise, with an overall increase of 22.7% as we approach the end of 2014”, said Sue Robinson, Director of the National Franchised Dealers Association which represents commercial vehicle and franchised car retailers across the UK, commenting on the SMMT’s van and truck registration figures.
New total commercial vehicle figures released today show overall sales were up 22.7% in November and up 10.9% year-to-date. Van sales increased by 19.4% last month, whilst truck demand saw a significant growth of 39.3% - pushing year-to-date volumes to 44,867, 6.5% ahead of 2012.
Robinson continued, “The November commercial vehicle market has continued with the growing momentum we’ve seen over the past four months.
“The year-to-date CV market was up 10.9% at 294,991 units and on track to top 300,000 units – the sectors best performance in five years.
“Van sales rose 19.4% in November with 22,647 registrations and 11.7% growth over the year so far and the most positive increase came from the truck sector”.
