“June marks a positive start to the first half of 2014, suggesting consumers are continuing to be drawn into the showroom by new products and services offered by dealers and manufacturers.” said Sue Robinson, Director of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) which represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers across the UK, commenting on the SMMT’s new car registration figures.

New car sales figures, released today were up 6.2% - marking the 28th consecutive month of growth and the best half year figures since 2005.

Robinson continued “Strong footfall and competitive finance offers are fuelling new car registrations this year and the NFDA hope that these incentives will continue to remain important if the sales trend is to continue throughout second half of the year.”
