“It is extremely disappointing to see that, in case of no-deal, imported cars will attract a 10% tariff which, ultimately, will penalise the consumer. This is highly concerning especially considering that imported cars account for the vast majority of new cars sold in the UK.
"More than half a million people work in the retail side of the automotive industry and it is essential that the stability of our sector is protected. NFDA urges the Government to provide businesses and consumers with clarity about Brexit as soon as possible and ensure that a no-deal scenario is avoided".
