Today, Tuesday 4 October, Government has announced that they will be extending the Plug-in Vehicle Grant delivery period from 12 to 18 months. The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles has informed the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) that due to on-going supply side constraints to semi-conductors, coupled with further conflict in Ukraine impacting manufacturing supply chains, they will be extending the Plug-in Vehicle Grant delivery period. This has now increased from 12 months to 18 months, meaning that eligibility for the grant will now expire only if the vehicle is not delivered within 18 months of the order being recorded on the grant portal. Vehicle orders recorded on the portal between 14 June 2021 – 31 March 2023 will benefit from this 18-month delivery period. From 1 April 2023, there will be no further extensions to the Plug-in Vehicle Grant delivery period after this date.
