John Biggin, Managing Director of Truck East, has been appointed Chairman of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) Truck Council with immediate effect.

John succeeds David Grant, previously the Managing Director of Orwell Truck and Van, who is stepping down to retire after many years in the role.

During David’s time as Truck Council Chairman he played a pivotal role in negotiations with VOSA over issues involving dealer tractor units taking trailers to test stations, increasing first time pass rates at franchise dealers and the introduction of ATF test facilities.

Commenting on his new position Biggin said “I am delighted to take on the role of NFDA Truck Council Chairman and look forward to once again supporting the industry through the fresh challenges that lie ahead.

“The Truck Council works hard to ensure it represents its member’s views, concerns and interests at all levels and across all the whole industry. This is an ethos I fully support and will continue to promote this in the coming months.”

Sue Robinson, NFDA Director, added “I am extremely pleased that John has taken on the role. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and I know he will continue to drive NFDA Truck and Van forward. I wish him all the very best in the role.”

“All here at the NFDA look forward to working closely with him again and seeing the NFDA Truck and Van sector move forward and thrive.”
