‘The 2012 NFDA Autumn Ball and Awards was a deserved salute to a sector whose very high levels of expertise and skills go unacknowledged far too often,’ said Sue Robinson, National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) Director, commenting on Saturday’s awards and dinner.

Robinson continues: ‘Our first NFDA Ball was a tremendous success providing us with the perfect opportunity to celebrate the NFDA as an autonomous body and what that means for the sector.’

The three award winners were carefully selected based on criteria set by the NFDA executive committee.

The Manufacturer Award was determined using the results of the latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey and was selected on the basis of specific questions that relate to the dealer/manufacturer relationship.

The Industry Icon award was given to an individual who has made a significant difference in the automotive industry, someone who has contributed greatly, year on year against all the odds.

The Business Partner Award was given to an individual who has continued to be an active supporter of this great industry through supporting business development, helping push for innovation and keeping a high level of professionalism through all aspects.

Robinson adds: ‘Congratulations to all the winners, they are all greatly deserving of these accolades.”

The winners were as follows:

Manufacturer Award Winner BMW

Industry Icon Award Eddie Hawthorne, Chief Executive of Arnold Clark

Business Partner Award Miles Trower, Partner for TLT Solicitors
