Dear Colleague,

Today three MPs visited NFDA members to discuss issues affecting the sector as the NFDA Parliamentary Engagement Programme continues. Joanna Cherry QC MP visited Arnold Clark Citroen DS dealership in Edinburgh, Imran Hussain MP went to Clive Brook in Bradford, while Jeremy Lefroy MP was hosted by Lookers Mercedes in Stafford. Employment in the industry, priorities for Brexit, as well as the new car market were the main topics of discussion.

This week, we have also visited a number of manufacturers to discuss their relationship with dealers, focussing on the results of the most recent Dealer Attitude Survey. We will continue to engage with them to best represent your interests.

The deadline for GDPR compliance came into force today. However, this is a gradual process and it is vital that franchised dealerships have a strong compliance strategy in place to be able to handle any issues that may arise. To assist you, NFDA has produced various GDPR HR related guidance documents available to members, please find more details in the newsletter. NFDA members who need any assistance or require any of the documents should contact 01788 538 304 or email louise.woods@rmif.co.uk.

The new NFDA website is now live: although the domain www.nfda-uk.co.uk is the same, the website has a completely different layout. It has been designed to allow for a high degree of flexibility, so we would welcome any feedback you may have.

Finally, following last year’s success, AM Live 2018 will take place on November 8, 2018, at the NEC in Birmingham. The event is free for dealers to attend and registrations are now open: http://bit.ly/2L948KX.

NFDA is your trade association: we represent, you benefit. If you need any assistance, please contact us on the member helpline 01788 538303.
