The NFDA Parliamentary Engagement Programme continues: John Procter MEP visited National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) member, JCT 600 Porsche Centre in Leeds on Friday 15 June 2018.

New and used car market, the issue of skill shortages and Brexit, were the main topics covered during the visit. Significant attention was paid to the challenges currently facing the uptake of alternatively fuelled vehicles as well as the speculation surrounding diesel.

With regards to the employment in the industry, the MEP was made aware of the efforts that the industry is making to address the issues thanks to unique and often innovative initiatives such as NFDA’s Drive My Career.

The imminent WLTP, as well as mileage fraud, were also analysed during the visit.

The programme will continue over the next months to continue to raise awareness of the retail side of the automotive industry. If you would like to host your local MP at your dealership please contact louise.woods@rmif.co.uk.
